Stereotactic Body Radiotherapy

It is a form of stereotaxic radiosurgery applied to the brain and extra-spinal cord regions of the body by giving high doses from small areas with fewer image-guided treatment sessions. In this way, very high radiation doses can be given to the diseased areas with maximum protection of the surrounding healthy tissues. The most suitable patients for this method are cases with small and well-circumscribed tumors that are not suitable for surgery or do not want surgery.

SBRT is often used in the treatment of small-sized tumors located in the lung, liver, adrenal gland, pancreas, prostate and bone, and can also be used in recurrent patients who have previously received radiotherapy.
